Birth of auditory and vestibular neurons

Congratulations, Maggie, previous graduate student Robert, postdoc Mirko, and our collaborators Andy, Onur, and Spyros! Maggie and the team found that the first occurrence of inner ear neurons is a highly dynamic process where gene expression changes, cell migration, and cell division go hand-in-hand to regulate neurogenesis over several days. The paper shows a “bioinformatic snapshot” of the cells at various stages of development.
