Lab Hike 2025 – We survived! Again!

A few weeks ago, a group of five adventurous lab members and one supportive partner went on our fourteenth annual lab hike (we've been doing this since 2011). This year’s destination was Reflection Canyon, accessible only by a challenging, undulating hike through the desert. The view was breathtaking, but the hike was difficult due to the heat and the very warm, dry wind. We reached the overlook, camped there overnight, and hiked back the next day. Instead of doing a second overnight backpacking trip the following day, we took it easy, recovered from the exertion (nothing serious, just fatigue), and hiked to the beautiful Lower Calf Creek Falls the next day. Unlike many previous hikes, we glamped using state park campgrounds, which offered comfort, campfires, and hot showers. It was fun, and we challenged ourselves again, no doubt: the hike to Reflection Canyon was physically and mentally challenging – congratulations to everyone for making it and sharing this experience together.
