Our avian hair cell loss model and methods for in situ mRNA, protein, and EdU detection

Congratulations to Mitsuo, Austin, and Nesrine for publishing a detailed step-by-step protocol to induce complete hair cell loss in chickens and on details used in our recent papers to detect mRNA, proteins, and EdU in vibratome inner ear sections. This is Nesrine’s first senior author paper, and she handled all aspects of writing, submission, revision, and publishing, including paying the publication fee from her own grant :-) I am happy to see this kind of independence from our research team.
